The Border Security Force (BSF) has announced the Constable (Tradesman) Recruitment 2025 for various posts including Cook, Water Carrier, Washer Man, and more. Eligible 10th pass male candidates can apply online from 19 July 2025. Candidates are advised to check the official notification and apply before the last date to avoid technical issues.

Educational Qualification 

Common Requirement for All Posts:

• Passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognized board 

Trade-specific Qualification:

• Cobbler / Tailor / Washerman / Barber / Sweeper / Khoji (Dog Handler):
  • 10th pass + proficiency in respective trade
  • Must qualify a Trade Test conducted by BSF
• Cook / Water Carrier / Waiter:
  • 10th pass + NSQF Level‑I course in Food Production or Kitchen from NSDC‑recognized institute
• Carpenter / Plumber / Painter / Electrician / Pump Operator / Upholsterer:
  • 10th pass +  2‑year ITI certificate in relevant/similar trade, / 1‑year ITI certificate with at least 1 year of experience in trade

Physical Standards 

 Note ;: No knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, or squint eye allowed. Must meet BSF's medical standards.

Age Limit (24 August 2025)

• Age: 18 years to 25 years
• Age Relaxation (upper limit):
  • SC/ST: +5 years, OBC (Non‑Creamy Layer): +3 years
  • J&K residents (Jan 1980–Dec 1989): +5 years
  • Children/dependents of 1984/2002 riot victims: +5 years

• Written Examination (Computer-Based Test - CBT):
  Objective-type multiple choice questions (MCQs) to assess General Knowledge, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and Technical knowledge (as per post).
• Physical Standards Test (PST):
  Candidates must meet minimum height and chest measurements according to category.
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
  Running test (5 km in 24 minutes for males and 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes for females) as per category.
• Document Verification:
  Original documents related to education, caste, age, and experience will be checked.
• Trade Test (if applicable):
  Practical test to assess the technical skill for trades like Constable (Generator Operator, Mechanic, etc.)
• Medical Examination:
  Detailed medical check-up as per BSF standards including vision, physical condition, and medical fitness.
• Final Merit List:
  Prepared on the basis of written test, PET/PST, trade test (if applicable), and medical fitness.

• There is no negative marking.
• Applications are accepted in online mode only.
• E‑admit card available through e‑mail and on bsf recruitment portal.
• 10% posts reserved for Ex‑servicemen; if unavailable, may be allotted to other candidates.
• Date of Birth must be as per Matriculation certificate—no changes allowed later.
• Age relaxation claims require valid certificates.
• No cap on number of attempts, unless disqualified earlier for misrepresentation.

Step 1: Visit Official Portal

Step 2: One-Time Registration

Click on “Apply Online” → eligible candidates must complete OTR (One Time Registration) by providing:

• Name (as recorded in matriculation) / Mobile Number / Email ID / An OTP will be sent for verification. 

Step 3: Login & Fill Application

Log in with registration credentials, then fill in the personal, educational, and trade-specific details. Upload mandatory documents like:

• Photograph & Signature
• Class X certificate or mark sheet
• Trade qualification certificate (ITI/NSDC etc.)
• Caste/PwBD certificate (if applicable)
