Indian Army NCC 123rd Special Entry Scheme 2026 – Golden Chance for Male and Female Candidates
Indian Army has released notification for NCC 123rd Special Entry Scheme April 2026. Male and female candidates who have NCC 'C' Certificate can become Commissioned Officer in Army directly through SSB Interview without written exam. This opportunity is only for unmarried candidates. The application process will be online and selection will be done after medical test and training.

Eligibility Criteria
Based on official NCC Special Entry Scheme 123rd Course notification — April 2026 batch
1. Nationality
The candidate must be:
- A citizen of India, OR A subject of Nepal, OR
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam) with the intention of permanently settling in India.
2. Age Limit
- As on 01 January 2026: Minimum 19 years, Maximum 25 years.
- That means born between 02 January 2001 and 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive).
3. Educational Qualification for NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
- Final year students may apply provided they have obtained minimum 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years of their degree course and can produce the degree certificate by the specified date.
- Must have served for minimum two academic years in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
- Must possess NCC ‘C’ Certificate with at least ‘B’ Grade.
4. Educational Qualification for Wards of Battle Casualties (No NCC Certificate Required)
English:
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
- NCC ‘C’ Certificate NOT required.
- Must be a ward of a battle casualty of the Army as per eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification.
5. Physical Standards
- Height & Weight standards as per Indian Army norms (different for male and female candidates).
- Permanent body tattoos allowed only on inner forearm or reverse side of palm; tribal candidates from notified areas have relaxed tattoo norms.
6. Important Notes
- Candidates must meet all eligibility criteria by the last date of application.
- Candidates in the final year must submit proof of passing degree by the date specified in the call-up letter for the SSB interview.

Selection Process
Indian Army NCC 123rd Course April 2026
1. Shortlisting of Applications
- Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army) will shortlist applications based on eligibility, academic performance, and NCC credentials.
- Only shortlisted candidates will receive an email invitation for SSB Interview.
2. SSB Interview
- Conducted at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Kapurthala (Punjab).
- SSB interview lasts 5 days in two stages:
- Stage I: Screening Test (Verbal & Non-verbal reasoning, PPDT – Picture Perception & Description Test).
- Stage II: Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, and Personal Interview.
3. Medical Examination
- Candidates recommended by SSB must undergo a medical exam at Military Hospitals.
- Medical standards are as per Indian Army norms; unfit candidates can apply for a review medical board.
4. Merit List
- Final merit list is prepared based on SSB performance, subject to medical fitness and number of vacancies.
- No separate marks are allotted for higher educational qualifications, but academic performance may be used for tie-breaking.
5. Training
- Selected candidates will undergo training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
- Training duration: 49 weeks (approx. 11 months).
- All expenses (including accommodation, food, and uniform) are borne by the government.
6. Important Points
- Joining depends on being in the merit list and the availability of vacancies.
- Candidates failing to meet medical standards will not be enrolled, even if in the merit list.
