Eligibility & Qualification

Educational Qualification

Lecturer (Male/Female) GIC:
- Post Graduate Degree in relevant subject (Sociology, Geography, Economics, Civics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, History, Botany, Zoology, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, etc.) from a recognized University in India.
- B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution.
Lecturer (Sparsh GIC – Visually Handicapped / Hearing Impaired):
- Post Graduate Degree in relevant subject from a recognized University.
- B.Ed. in Special Education or M.Ed. from RCI-recognized institution.
- Knowledge of Braille/Sign Language.
- Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Lecturer (Uttar Pradesh Jail Training School):
- Master’s Degree in Psychology/Sociology/Criminology/Social Work/Anthropology with specialization in Criminology, Penology, or Criminal Psychology.
- Preference to candidates with a Doctorate and good knowledge of Hindi.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025)

Minimum Age: 21 Years to 40 Years
Age Relaxation:
- SC / ST / OBC / Skilled Players / State Govt. Employees of U.P.: +5 years
- PH (Divyang): +15 years
- Ex-Army / Emergency Commissioned Officers: +3 years + service period

Selection Process

Preliminary Examination
- Objective type written exam.
- Negative marking of 0.33 marks for each wrong answer.
- Minimum qualifying marks:
  - SC/ST: 35%
  - Other Categories: 40%
Main (Written) Examination
- Descriptive type paper based on the subject applied for.
- Marks obtained in the main exam will be the basis of final selection.
Document Verification
- Verification of educational certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile, and other required documents.
Medical Examination
- Candidates selected after DV will have to undergo a medical fitness test as per UPPSC rules.

Final Merit List:
Prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Examination only.

Important facts to know before applying online form

One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory before applying online.
Reservation benefits are available only to original domicile of Uttar Pradesh.
Candidates must keep a printout of the application form and fee receipt for future reference.
Negative marking of 0.33 marks applies in the Preliminary Exam.
Candidates must meet the minimum qualifying marks criteria (SC/ST – 35%, Others – 40%).
All updates will be notified through the UPPSC official website and registered email/mobile.
The number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on requirements.
No hard copy of the application form is to be sent to UPPSC unless asked for.
Candidates serving in Govt. departments must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of document verification.
Admit Card, Answer Key, and Results will be available only on the official website

Complete One Time Registration (OTR) – If not already done, register yourself and obtain the OTR number from OTR Portal.
Login and Fill Application Form – Use your OTR number to log in and fill in all required personal, educational, and eligibility details.
Upload Documents – Upload recent passport-size photograph and signature as per the prescribed format.
Pay Examination Fee – Pay the fee online via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or other available modes.
Preview and Submit – Check all details carefully before final submission.
Print Application Form – Take a printout of the application form and fee receipt for future reference.
