Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of a total of 18 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) in Soil Conservation Department under Advertisement No. 26/2025. This recruitment is exclusively for diploma holders in civil or agricultural engineering, who are natives of Assam. Online applications for this recruitment can be made from 16 July 2025 to 15 August 2025. The selection process will consist of written test and interview, and the final selection will be done after document verification and eligibility check.

1. Nationality

• Candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
• Must be a permanent resident of Assam.
• PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) of Assam OR valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate of Assam is mandatory.

2. Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025)

• Minimum Age: 18 years to 40 years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years (up to 45 years)
  • OBC/MOBC: 3 years (up to 43 years)
  • Ex-Servicemen: 2 years (up to 42 years)
  • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): 10 years (up to 50 years)

3. Educational Qualification

• 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering from any Govt. recognized Polytechnic Institution.
• Distance mode/Part-time diploma courses are not accepted.

• General: ₹250 + ₹47.20 (processing fee) = ₹297.20
• OBC/MOBC: ₹150 + ₹47.20 = ₹197.20
• SC/ST/BPL/PwBD: Nil + ₹47.20 = ₹47.20

1. Screening Test / Written Examination
   • Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
   • Subjects likely to include General Studies, Engineering Aptitude, Technical Civil Engineering topics
   • Conducted by APSC (offline or online mode)
   • Shortlisted candidates will proceed to the next round
2. Interview / Viva-Voce
   • Qualified candidates from the written test will be called for an interview
   • Conducted by APSC board
   • Assesses communication skills, domain knowledge, confidence, and suitability for the post
3. Document Verification
   • Original certificates of age, educational qualification, caste, PRC/Employment Registration, PwBD, etc. must be presented
   • Mismatch or non-production may lead to cancellation
4. Final Merit List
   • Based on aggregate marks of written test + interview
   • Published on APSC official website: https://apsc.nic.in

• One-Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory: Candidates must register on the APSC Recruitment Portal https://apscrecruitment.in before applying.
• Document Upload is Final: Once documents (PRC, age, education, caste, PwBD, etc.) are uploaded during the application process, they cannot be changed or edited after submission.
• No Manual Submission Accepted: Hardcopy applications or documents sent via post/by hand will not be accepted under any circumstances.
• Application Fee is Non-Refundable: Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded even if the candidate is later found ineligible.
• Eligibility Must Be Factual: If any information is found to be false at any stage, the application will be rejected and the candidate may be debarred from future exams.
