Indian Army SSC Tech‑66 Men Entry (April 2026 Batch)

Applications have opened for 350 posts under SSC Tech-66 (Male) for unmarried male engineering graduates in the age group of 20 to 27 years. Candidates will be selected directly through SSB interview and medical assessment - no written exam is required.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION (TECH) MEN (APR 2026)

1. Nationality

The candidate must be:

• A citizen of India, OR
• A subject of Nepal, OR
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zaire, Vietnam) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates from categories 2 & 3 must produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

2. Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 20 years
• Maximum Age: 27 years
• Candidates must be born between 02 April 1999 and 01 April 2006 (both dates inclusive).

Age will be verified from the matriculation certificate only.

3. Educational Qualification

• Candidates should have passed the Engineering Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in relevant streams.
• Final-year engineering students can also apply provided they complete the degree before 01 April 2026.

Degree must match with the eligible engineering streams mentioned in the notification.

4. Marital Status

• Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
• Marriage is not permitted during training. If a candidate marries during training, he will be discharged and liable to refund all expenses.

5. Physical Standards

• Minimum Height: 157.5 cm
• Weight and chest expansion should be proportionate
• Vision: Minimum standard without glasses (6/6 or 6/9)
• Must meet the Army’s physical fitness standards including running, push-ups, and other endurance parameters

SSC Tech 66 Men (April 2026)

 1. Shortlisting of Applications

• Candidates are shortlisted based on percentage marks in their engineering degree (up to final year/semester).
• No written exam is conducted.
• Cut-off marks are decided by the Indian Army based on stream and availability.

 2. SSB Interview

• Shortlisted candidates will receive a call letter to appear for the SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview.
• SSB is a two-stage selection process conducted at selection centres (e.g., Bhopal, Bangalore, Allahabad, Kapurthala).

 Stages of SSB:

• Stage 1: Screening test (includes Intelligence Test & Picture Perception Description Test – PPDT)
• Stage 2: Psychological tests, Group Testing Officer tasks (GTO), Personal Interview, and Conference

 3. Medical Examination

• Candidates who clear SSB are sent for a comprehensive medical test at a designated military hospital.
• Only those found medically fit will be considered for the final merit list.

 4. Final Merit List

• Prepared on the basis of SSB performance + Medical fitness
• Higher preference is given to candidates with better performance and vacancies available in their stream
• Final selection leads to training at OTA Chennai in April 2026.

🔹 Final Year Students Eligible

• Final-year B.E./B.Tech students may apply if they complete the degree before 01 April 2026.

🔹 Commission & Training

• Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army.
• Training will commence at OTA Chennai in April 2026, and after successful completion, candidates will be appointed as Lieutenant.

🔹 Degree Branch Must Match

• Engineering stream must exactly match with the streams mentioned in the official notification.
• Any mismatch can result in cancellation at any stage.

🔹 Marital Status

• Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
• Marriage is not allowed during the training period. Married candidates will be disqualified.

🔹 SSB Interview is Mandatory

• Shortlisted candidates must appear for SSB Interview, which includes mental, psychological, group, and personal assessments.

🔹 No Change in DOB / Branch Later

• Date of Birth as per 10th certificate will be final.
• No requests for change in engineering stream or personal details will be entertained after submission.

3. New Registration / Login
   • If you're a new user, click on “Registration” and complete the form.
   • If already registered, click “Login” using your credentials.
4. Fill SSC Tech Application
   • After login, click “Apply Online” under SSC (Tech) – 66 Course (Men).
   • Fill out the application form:
     • Personal details / Educational qualifications / Engineering stream / SSB centre preferences
5. Upload Documents
   • Recent passport-size photo & Signature
   • Final year/degree certificates (if available)
   • ID proof, etc.
6. Submit the Form
   • Review all information carefully
   • Submit the application
   • After submission, download and print two copies of the application form.
