Railway Recruitment Cell, Eastern Railway, invites applications for 3115 Act Apprentice posts for 2025-26 in various divisions & workshops. Eligible ITI pass candidates can apply online from 14 August to 13 September 2025.

1. Age Limit (as on closing date of application)
   • Age: 15 years to  24 years
   • Age Relaxation:
     • SC / ST: +5 years / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
     • PwBD: +10 years
     • Ex-Servicemen: Additional relaxation as per Govt. rules
2. Educational Qualification
   • Must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board
   • Should also possess National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT
   • Candidates with National Trade Certificate in Wood Work Technician can also apply for Carpenter trade
3. Medical Fitness
   • Candidate should be physically fit as per the standards prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961
   • Must provide a medical certificate signed by a Government-authorized doctor (Gazetted rank, not below Assistant Surgeon) at the time of document verification

• Merit-Based Selection
  • No written examination will be conducted.
  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the average percentage of marks obtained in 10th Class and ITI (equal weightage to both).
    • Example: If a candidate scores 80.58% in 10th and 91.68% in ITI, the average will be (80.58 + 91.68) ÷ 2 = 86.13.
• Tie-Breaking Criteria
  • If two candidates have the same average marks, the older candidate will be preferred.
  • If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed 10th class earlier will be given preference.
• Document Verification (DV)
  • Shortlisted candidates (1.5 times of total notified seats) will be called for DV.
  • Original documents such as educational certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), medical certificate, and identity proof will be verified.
• Medical Fitness Test
  • Candidates must pass the medical standards prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
  • Medical certificate should be issued by a Government-authorized doctor (Gazetted rank, not below Assistant Surgeon).
• Final Selection
  • Selection will be finalized only after DV and medical fitness verification.
  • Training will be offered in only one unit & trade based on merit and preference.

• Mode of Application:
  • Only online applications will be accepted through the official website www.rrcer.org.
  • No offline/physical forms will be entertained.
• Training Nature:
  • This recruitment is purely for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
  • It does not guarantee a permanent job in Railways after training.
• Vacancy Change:
  • The number of seats may increase, decrease, or even be canceled as per railway administration requirements.
• Reservation Policy:
  • Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen will be as per Government rules.
• Merit-Based Selection:
  • No written exam or interview — selection will be on the basis of 10th & ITI marks.
• Multiple Unit Preferences:
  • Candidates can choose multiple units/divisions as per preference during application.
• Document Verification & Medical:
  • Final selection will be after document verification and medical fitness clearance.
• Stipend:
  • Selected apprentices will receive a stipend as per Government norms during training.

• Registration:
  • Fill in basic details like name, mobile number, and email ID to generate a registration ID.
• Fill Application Form:
  • Enter personal, educational, and trade preference details as per your certificates.
  • Ensure all details match your 10th mark sheet.
• Upload Documents:
  • Recent passport size photograph (JPG/JPEG format)
  • Full signature (JPG/JPEG format)
  • 10th Marksheet & ITI Certificate (PDF format)
  • Caste/EWS/PwBD Certificate (if applicable)
• Pay Application Fee:
