Southern Railway has released Notification No. 01/2025 for Act Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26. Online applications are invited for 3000+ vacancies in various trades under Apprentices Act, 1961. Eligible candidates from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, SPSR Nellore & Chittoor (AP) and Dakshina Kannada (Karnataka) can apply online till 25 September 2025 at sr.indianrailways.gov.in

RRC SR Apprentice 2025

Age Limit (as on 25.08.2025)

• Minimum Age: 15 Years
• Maximum Age: (Fresher: 22 Years / Ex-ITI / MLT: 24 Years)

Age Relaxation:

• OBC (NCL): +3 Years / SC/ST: +5 Years
• PwBD: +10 Years

Educational Qualification

1. Fresher Category

• Fitter, Painter, Welder: 10th Pass with 50% aggregate marks under 10+2 system.
• Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology): 12th Pass (10+2 system) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (minimum 50% marks).

2. Ex-ITI Category

• Trades: Fitter, Machinist, MMV, Turner, Diesel Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter, Welder (Gas & Electric), Wireman, Advance Welder, Plumber, Draughtsman (Civil), Mechanic (Refrigeration & AC), Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, ICTSM, COPA, PASAA, Secretarial Assistant, Stenographer (English).
• Qualification: 10th Pass (50% marks) + ITI Certificate in relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.

• General / OBC / EWS : ₹100/-
• SC / ST / PwBD / Women : No Fee

Southern Railway Jobs 2025

Merit List Preparation

• Fresher Category (10th pass)
• 10th marks will be converted to 200 marks scale.
• Merit List will be prepared on the basis of these converted marks.
• Minimum 50% aggregate marks mandatory (not applicable for SC/ST/PwBD).

Ex-ITI Category:

• 10th marks → 100 Marks
• ITI marks → 100 Marks
• Both together will form a merit list of 200 marks.

Equal weightage will be given.

• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT – 12th pass):
• Higher Secondary (PCB) marks will be converted to 200 scale.
• Merit will be prepared on this basis.

  Tie-Breaking Rule

• If two candidates have equal marks, then the older candidate will be given preference.
• If the date of birth is also same then the one who passes Matriculation first will be selected.

  Final Stage

• Document Verification (DV)
• Medical Fitness Test (by Govt. Authorized Doctor)

👉 That means selection will be based only on Academic Marks + Document Verification + Medical Exam.

2. Open Notification Link
   • Click on “Act Apprentice 2025-26 – Apply Online”.
3. New Registration
   • Register with a valid Email ID & Mobile Number.
   • A unique Registration ID and Password will be generated.
4. Fill Application Form
   • Enter personal details, educational qualification, and trade preference carefully.
5. Upload Documents
   • Recent Photograph (Passport size) / Signature (scanned)
   • Class 10th / 12th Marksheet / ITI Certificate (for Ex-ITI)
   • Caste / Community / PwBD certificate (if applicable)
6. Pay Application Fee
   • General / OBC / EWS: ₹100/-
   • SC / ST / PwBD / Women: No Fee
   • Payment Mode: Online (Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI).
7. Submit Application
   • Re-check details before final submission.
   • Click on Submit & Generate Acknowledgement Slip.
8. Print Application Form
   • Take a printout of the Application Form & Fee Receipt for future use.
