BPSC Assistant Town Planner 2025
Educational Qualification:
Post Graduate Degree or equivalent qualification from any recognized University or Institution in one of the following disciplines:Town Planning / Regional Planning / Urban Planning / City Planning / Country Planning / Transport Planning / Housing / Environmental Planning
Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025):
Unreserved (Male): 21 to 37 years
Backward Class / Extremely Backward Class (Male & Female) and Unreserved (Female): 21 to 40 years
SC / ST (Male & Female): 21 to 42 years
Relaxations:
Regular employees of Bihar government: 5 years in age (with a maximum of 5 attempts in total), subject to official certificate.
Persons with Disabilities (PWD): Additional 10 years in upper age limit (must submit valid certificate).
Ex-servicemen: 3 years plus the length of service in defense, not exceeding 57 years of actual age at date of application.
All categories: ₹100
If no Aadhaar is provided, Biometric fee: ₹200 extra

BPSC Assistant Town Planner 2025
Written Examination (Objective Type):
Only one paper: Town Planning Paper
Duration: 2 hours / Total Questions: 125
Maximum Marks: 125 / Type: Objective multiple-choice questions (MCQ)
No negative marking for wrong answers
Qualifying Marks:
General category: Minimum 40% / Backward Class: Minimum 36.5%
Extremely Backward Class: Minimum 34%
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Women & PwD: Minimum 32%
Document Verification:
After written examination, document verification will be conducted based on claims made in online application.
Candidates must produce original certificates of educational qualification, category, and other claims during verification.
Failure to produce valid documents will result in disqualification from merit list.
Merit List Preparation:
Based on the written exam scores, candidates will be placed in the merit list.
In case of a tie in marks, older candidates (by date of birth) will be given preference.
If date of birth is the same, alphabetical order by name in Devanagari script will decide position.
No Re-evaluation:
The commission does not provide any re-evaluation or rechecking of the written examination answer sheets.

One Time Registration (OTR):
Visit the BPSC online portal: https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in
Register as a New User by clicking the New User Registration button.
Provide valid email ID and mobile number for OTP verification.
Complete the OTR process to create a profile dashboard.
Note: Only one OTR per candidate; multiple registrations may lead to rejection.
Profile Creation:
The profile creation consists of six steps:Step 1: Personal Information (e.g., caste/category, disability, ex-serviceman status)
Step 2: Address Information (Permanent and correspondence address)
Step 3: Other Information (e.g., pending criminal cases, etc.)
Step 4: Qualification Information (Details of educational qualifications)
Step 5: Experience Information (Relevant work experience, if any)
Step 6: Upload Photo, Signatures (Hindi & English), and Lock Profile (Live photo capture via webcam may be required)
Application for the Advertisement:
After profile creation and locking, go to the "New Application" tab.
Find the active advertisement for Assistant Town Planner and click “View” followed by “Check Advertisement Criteria.”
Fill the application form and submit all details carefully.
Payment of Application Fee:
Pay ₹100 (plus applicable bank charges) online via available payment modes.
Additional biometric fee of ₹200 applicable if Aadhaar number is not provided.
Payment can be made immediately after filling application or later through “My Account” tab before the last date.
No refund of application fees after submission/rejection.
Download and Print Application:
After successful application and fee payment, download and print the filled application form.
Keep at least two copies of the printout for future reference and documents verification.
Important Notes:
No offline or hard copy submission of application or documents is required.
Upload only valid and correct certificates as per notification requirements.
Any discrepancy found during document verification may lead to cancellation of candidature.
